Sarah Wilson – manager/senior florist

Sarah has been an important part of the Smellies team since 2007, having come to us as a mature-aged apprentice. The brave decision to retrain in a whole new vocation paid off, Sarah completed her floristry training at Box Hill Institute of TAFE in 2009, having been nominated for Apprentice of the Year in her final year. She went on to undertake Certificate IV in Floristry, taking out first place in the graduate competition.

Since qualifying, she has worked solidly, refining her skills and finding her own unique style as a florist and has been promoted to manager of Smellies. Last year, Sarah spent 3 months travelling through the UK and Europe and has returned inspired by the great florists of Germany, London and Paris. Using her new knowledge to motivate us all in a new brand of floristry, Sarah has taken her trademark style to the Melbourne International Flower and Garden Show achieving a 4th placing last year in the florist competition. Sarah is competing at the MIFGS again this year and looks forward to a long future in floristry, focusing on new innovations and products in our industry.
